                                                                        New Size Options

The Native Pony's head is anything but standard, and at NPBridles we recognise that standard 'off the peg' sizes don't always work. To address these issues we have incorporated the following new unique size options into our range.

'Mix & Match'
Select each bridle part size individually for a fixed price, allowing you to create your own Semi Bespoke bridle with a few clicks of the button. You will also find most of our New Sizes below incorporated into this range.

Nosebands
We find a common problem with nosebands is that the 'correct' size simply isn't large enough around the nose for broad heads, and if you buy the next size up it is then invariably too long over the head and the hanger buckle is too high above the eye for the short cheek length. Our '+size'  options are wider around the nose, but the same length over the head, an amalgamation of the two sizes you really need. For example.....
1.  'Pony+' - Cob size around the nose 'E', but Pony over the head 'F'.

2.  'Cob+' - Full size around the nose 'E', but Cob over the head 'F'.

Head Pieces
Some ponies naturally require a wider Head or Crown Piece which sits over the poll (image c) before the split into the hangers and Throatlash where the Browband sits. On broader heads this ensures the browband still sits in the correct place, at the base of the ears without being pulled up, cutting into the ear base.

We have introduced an option that allows you to select a wider centre piece (C), without having to select a larger size which may mean the cheek hangers (B) and throat lash (A) are too long and give excess, unsightly leather on the more compact head. For example.....

1.  'Pony+' - Measurement 'C' is that of a Cob bridle, but  'A' & 'B' remain Pony length.

2.   'Cob+' - Measurement 'C' is that of a Full bridle, but 'A' & 'B' remain Cob length.

Throat Lashes
On our Shetland and Pony bridles we offer a choice of two throat lash lengths (measurement 'A' above). This idea predominately has the Sec A head in mind where standard throat lashes can often be too long.

Martingales
Native ponies are very often deeper in the chest and have more neck than others, so whilst a running martingale may fit the 'body', the standard neck straps they come with are often too small. It's a simple but obvious solution, we are offering additional '+' sizes in martingales too. For example...

1.   'Pony+' - Pony body, but with a Cob neck strap.

2.   'Cob+' - Cob body, but with a Full size neck strap.

Measuring & Size Guide

Picture

In this section we will you help you select the correct Native Pony Bridle size for your pony.

We find that whilst it is possible to measure your pony's head, it is very often easier to measure an existing bridle.

Firstly stand back and have a really good look at how it fits noting any changes you feel are required. If it isn't a perfect fit you can simply add on, or take away from the measurements of each piece to give you the fit you require.

For example, If your noseband is too small around the nose (measurement 'E'),  take the measurement of the piece that is too small and add on the amount it  would require to be the perfect fit, then look at the table below to see which NPBridle size you require
